At River Heights Physiotherapy we care tremendously about your health and safety. In order to address returning to practice with COVID-19 or coronavirus still a risk we are following the guidelines and advice of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Health Canada. In order to reduce the spread of coronavirus and all other communicable diseases we have increased our regular cleaning schedules and implemented additional measures which include:
All patients are asked to cancel their scheduled appointments or switch to Virtual Physio if they are experiencing any symptoms, have been in contact with anyone who is suspected to have the coronavirus, have travelled outside the country/province in the last 2 weeks or are awaiting testing results for Covid-19.
All staff have been asked to stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms, have been in contact with anyone who is suspected to have the coronavirus, have travelled outside of the country/province in the last 2 weeks or are awaiting testing results for Covid-19.
Each therapist will be decreasing the frequency of scheduled patients to decrease the amount of people in the clinic at any one time.
All patients will be asked to clean their hands upon entry into the clinic and before leaving their treatment rooms. Hand sanitizer is available at the front door and in all treatment rooms. We also have 2 sinks for handwashing with single use paper towel for hand drying.
Disposable masks will be available at the front door but we ask if you have access to a mask that you please bring your own as all patients will be asked to wear one for the duration of their appointment.
We have added signs throughout the clinic reminding people not to attend if they are ill and of other prevention measures suggested by Health Canada.
We will utilize distancing strategies in common areas with red tape markers to designate safe standing areas. A shield will be up at the reception desk for you to make payments and appointments. We will encourage patients to have their receipts and exercise programs emailed to them. Treatment rooms are private. We will bring patients directly into their treatment rooms upon entry to the clinic. For this reason, please come to your appointments right on time, not early or late. Friends and family will not be able to wait for you in the waiting room but if needed they can come into the treatment room with you.
All surfaces and door handles in treatment rooms will be cleaned with a Health Canada approved disinfectant between every patient.
Cleaning schedules to disinfect other door handles and surfaces commonly touched will been increased to multiple times throughout the day.
All therapists will be wearing masks, cleaning their hands thoroughly between patients and using disposable gloves as needed. We will take care to keep you in your designated treatment room with only the therapist coming and going throughout the duration of the treatment.
If you are attending for jaw treatment and prefer no intra-oral treatment with a gloved hand please let us know. There are multiple alternative treatment options.
We are committed to working together to keep our community safe.
If you have any further questions about the safety measures we are taking please feel free to send your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office at 204-987-9222.
