River Heights Physiotherapy is now offering Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture!
Acupuncture treats you from head to toe – physically, emotionally, and mentally, by strengthening the mind-body connection that is so often ignored in today's age.
Health is the result of harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of yin and yang, and of the life force known as QI. Illness is a result of the imbalance of these. Acupuncture is a form of treatment that involves inserting very thin needles through a person’s skin at specific points on the body to various depths. These are called acupuncture points. By stimulating these acupuncture points we are allowing the proper flow of QI throughout the meridians to restore the body's balance and encourage a natural healing response.
Acupuncturists will go over a very in depth patient history and questionnaire in order to determine what imbalance you may have in your body. We will check your pulse and tongue and a visual inspection in order to gather more information about your condition. From there we come up with a formula of acupuncture points that is right for your body and the imbalance you have. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years in order to help millions of people, because of the long history of Acupuncture, Doctors have been able to determine which specific acupuncture points work best for certain conditions.
