Mandy Connell, Physiotherapist, Owner

Mandy’s university career began while on a tennis scholarship at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. She returned to Canada to complete her physiotherapy degree from the University of Manitoba in 2000, and has worked in private practice physiotherapy since then. In 2010 she began working at River Heights Physiotherapy and in 2014 she joined Amanda McLean as co-owner.  She has been a Certified Fitness Instructor since 1995, has since become a yoga instructor, and running enthusiast. Her passion and knowledge in sports, and exercise instruction have been invaluable to her physiotherapy practice.

Since the beginning of her career Mandy has followed current research and has done many continuing education courses to enhance her expertise in treating orthopaedic injuries. She has advance training in treating jaw disorders, and has built up an extensive and rewarding practice in this area.   Mandy is licensed to practice acupuncture and is trained in the management of osteoporosis. Consequently, she applies a wide variety of treatment techniques in the areas of manual therapy, specific therapeutic exercise, acupuncture, and education.

Mandy feels strongly about promoting the profession of physiotherapy. On multiple occasions she has been invited to educate other health care professionals about the role of physiotherapy in treating the jaw. She has taught back care education and exercise classes and educational seminars for walkers and runners.

Mandy enjoys treating clients of all ages and physical activity levels. She believes in empowering her clients to take an active role in their rehab, and teaching them how to take care of their bodies in order to live long, healthy, active lives.
